Jimmy’s Road To Recovery
On June 21st, Father’s Day, we received a phone call in regards to my brother Jimmy. He was being
brought in for emergency, exploratory surgery.
A little backstory on my brother Jimmy, he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease over 10 years ago
where he had his first operation removing part of his intestines that were infected by the Crohn’s.
Fast forward to Father’s Day 2020, June 21st, the surgeons couldn’t believe their eyes when they
opened him up. Not only was the Crohn’s back, he had a blockage, and Sepsis Infection throughout his
entire body and he was in Septic Shock. For those of you that don’t know, Septic Shock kills about 40% of its patients. My brother’s s age, 43, and otherwise healthy body made him a fighter. He spent 2
weeks in ICU, in a coma, on a ventilator, with IV antibiotics etc. Dr’s weren’t sure what or if he would
come back to us! Well he did, and then he spent the next week in a rehabilitation center, healing and
learning how to walk again and regain his strength and muscles. He is doing therapy from home
everyday now and getting stronger day by day!
To say the least, he has been to hell and back. My brother is the sole provider for their family and they
need some help with the day to day finances. We are going on week 4 with no income coming in, and a
long road of recovery ahead. Rent, utilities, car, groceries, etc.
My family appreciates ALL you can do to help out, and we just want to take one less stress off this
families plate while they are all healing. We are so grateful that God gave us more time together, and it
just wasn’t his time yet.
