The Accident
On July 18, our world was knocked off kilter when my husband, Jim was in a bad car accident that has kept him in the hospital since then. His pelvis was shattered and his hip, dislocated. He was taken to a local hospital to assess his injuries. They were able to sedate him long enough to put his hip back into place, then decided to transport him to a Level 1 Trauma Center in Minneapolis where he had further surgery. Surgery was delayed because of a bowel blockage, but finally took place on July 24, 2018. The photo you see here is the day after surgery when he was starting to feel he turned a corner.
As he was working on his physical therapy, they noticed he wasn't progressing and are now looking at nerve damage from the trauma to his leg in the accident. We do not know what our future holds.
Our Situation
We operate a one-man plumbing company and have now lost our main source of income. There is no date in site for him to return to work, and at this point we are not sure he can return to the same job. We have 2 kids that are still in school and back to school starts in a little over a month. The bills are starting to come in now from the tow, ambulance, hospitals, etc. Our auto insurance is covering the injury, but everything else is coming from my income that will not support our family.
Thank You
We have a tremendous community around us that have supported us with meals, rides for the kids activities, cutting grass, taking our garbage to the curb and more. We have felt loved all along the way. Thank you for taking the time to consider supporting us. We appreciate every prayer, thought and anyway you can help. We are truly humbled by our village's support.
It is a true miracle he walked away from this accident alive. This go fund me is set up as an emergency fund for this family.
