Jim Meineke Surgery Fundraiser: Craniopharyngioma
Donation protected
A note from Jim’s daughter, Faith:
On behalf of my dad, we are hoping to raise funds to assist in his recovery.
Jim was diagnosed with a brain tumor, Craniopharyngioma, effecting the pituitary gland.
He will have pre-op appointments all day on the 5th of April, at Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota. Jim will spend the night in Rochester with his kids and have surgery, the following day. To remove the tumor they will be performing a frontal craniotomy, which is a 5-6 hour surgery. He’ll be in ICU overnight on the 6th and in the hospital 3-5 days. The recovery time will be 6 weeks. They are expecting after surgery, that he will need hormone replacement for the remainder of his life. He is already working with Mayo’s Endocrinology Department for if or when this happens.
Without the surgery there is a large chance of vision loss, or more severe consequences, so we are anxious for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
His family will be caring for him throughout his healing process and are seeking donations to lessen the weight of the expenses while Jim is focusing on his health.
If you are not comfortable donating on this site, feel free to reach out to either myself, or my father.
We have already been pleasantly overwhelmed by all the love and support— thank you thank you thank you to our incredible friends and family.
