On June 7 2018 the most caring loving gentle man passed away suddenly. While on the way home from a bear hunt, Jim, his son Jesse and family friend were hit by a drunk driver. Jesse and the friend walked away with minimal injuries. Jim was killed on impact.
Jim Koenig left behind his loving wife, Debbie and their three young children, Joanne, John and Jesse. He was an avid outdoorsman and was the president of the Rimbey Fish and Game for a number of years and was always willing to share his knowledge with anyone who was interested. As a family they ran a beef farm just outside of Rimbey, with over 250 head of cattle. Jim was the butcher at the local store over 20 years. For those who knew Jim knew how much he loved his wife, his children and his farm. He was always a free spirited man who drove with the window down and his arm on the ledge, waving to everyone that passed down the street. He was a wonderful man and was friends with many. Always willing to help anyone in need with nothing in return. A few years ago Jim decided to become a full time farmer, and stay home and to live out one of his many passions with Debbie and the children. Along with trapping during the winter months.
I’ve started this page to help Debbie and the kids keep their mind at ease during this difficult time. Thank you to anyone who donates
