Meet Chloe and Landon
Chloe and Landon were born into the world of soccer due to the tremendous influence of their late grandfather, Jim Kerr, who passed due to a sudden illness two years ago today.
If you don't know Jim Kerr, well let me say that he remains a legend in the San Diego Soccer community. When Jim's daughters Amy and Tania, ages four and seven at the time, needed a soccer coach, Jim stepped in to volunteer and take on the responsibilities of becoming a soccer coach for the first time - he never took a season off after that. He coached all the way through high school and onto referring becoming the Director of Assignments for the San Diego County Referee Association. He built his life around soccer in San Diego for decades. In fact, Jim was such a huge asset to the Surf Cup Sports community they have named their Surf Cup referee headquarters after him.
I learned that Jim's daughter Amy, Landon's mom, was planning on purchasing San Diego Loyal season tickets so along with her sister Tania, they could take Chloe and Landon to the game their grandfather introduced them to. However, a number of obstacles have gotten in the way including an unexpected job loss.
Jim Kerr was incredibly loyal to the local soccer community so what better way to continue his legacy to put his daughters and grandchildren into a set of season tickets for the San Diego Loyal inaugural season.
Please join me in supporting Jim's family and keeping his love for the beautiful game alive in his grandchildren.
