This campaign is for my brother James "Jimmy" Duda, a disabled US Army Veteran and dedicated family man, already suffering with a litany of medical conditions, hospitalized at Tampa General ICU for almost 2 weeks awaiting a triple bypass surgery during the COVID-19 medical crisis that has Medical Practitioners stretched to their limits.  Jim has posted from his Facebook a couple times this week to put on a good face, but Jim and his wife Judy are too proud to ask for help publicly, so I am doing this on their behalf and all proceeds go directly to them.
While his health situation is complicated (Kidney recipient {diabetes}, legally blind {lost an eye from diabetes}, Stage 2 Squamous cell carcinoma removed from head), Jimmy thankfully thus far does _not_ have COVID-19. He was originally hospitalized with blood sugar issues that had them questioning his donated kidney and after stabilizing his blood sugar he is suffering some severe migraines and regurgitating blood while awaiting his bypass procedure.  He has had a catheter and insulin drip among other medications and treatment. He may not be receiving all the attention he needs as his devoted wife Judy struggles to advocate for him with limited access due to COVID-19 and while also caring for their daughter as they are on the road. Judy spends much time at medical facilities and on the phone trying to get Jim seen by the appropriate Practitioners and with various billing sources between the VA, Medicare, and Disability offices. It's probably not realistic to start a campaign to help pay Jim's comically exorbitant medical bills (the VA is by andlarge primarily the payee, but that is a constant struggle and many of the bills end up with Jim and Judy) as over the years that have totaled many hundreds of thousands of dollars so we are seeking immediate financial assistance just to help Jim and Judy manage the logistics of his care while she is out of work and he is between checks from the VA. They live in Palm Coast, FL but they are in Tampa and they don't know how much longer they will be there. They are completely overwhelmed and drained, so we humbly request assistance, no matter how great or small, to help them endure this urgent episode that we anticipate will extend Jimmy's life.
