Hello all. My name is James Daley and I am dire need of financial help. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bladder Cancer, Type 2 Diabetes, and High Blood Pressure. My life was going great, I was working full time as a Mechanic. It was my passion and profession for more than 40 years. I went to my Doctor at the beginning of March 2021 due to pain in my lower right side back. He suggested that I go see a Urologist. I was told that i would need a procedure to help my right kidney drain into my bladder. He was going to put in a stent. I went to hospital for procedure, woke up with catheter, and tubes coming out of my back to allow my kidneys to drain. The biopsy that was taken came back as Stage 4 Bladder Cancer. Suddenly my world was turned upside down. I had to quit work, sell my vehicle, sell my Harley motorcycle and sell all of my tools. I was referred to a Oncologist for a treatment plan. My Cancer is inoperable. My wife was working from home and with my income, we were comfortably getting by. We had some savings. With the loss of my income, and the expenses of Dr's, medication, and all the medical bills coming in, we have gone through all our savings and the bills still are coming. We had some help from friends and family to get us through till we were forced to move from our rental home into a 55+ mobile home community. With all of the savings gone and the medical bills accumulating fast and furious, we are forced to have to ask for help. My treatment plan is going through some changes to figure out what will work best for me. Some have worked decently, others have made me deathly sick. I was told that most people with this form of cancer, have a survival rate of 3 to 6 weeks. I am now at 8 months and hoping to be around for a while. I will be looking for a second opinion on possible treatment plans as soon as financially feasible. With the new year just around the corner, we are going to be in real financial trouble with all new co-pays, medications, and out of pocket expenses.
I have always been a very giving person to friends, neighbors, strangers for no more reason than they needed help, and I was able to help. I never asked for any compensation for my help. I find myself being very humble to have to ask for help. I am only 61 years old and not eligible for a lot of Government Programs. I know that there are people who are willing and able to help financially. My time has come to be the one who needs the help now. My wife is not making enough to cover all of our expenses. I am currently waiting for Social Security Disability to kick in. I was told that it takes several months for that to occur. Our needs are now and very dire.
Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
