Thank you all for the support, we have ended the gofundme.
Help the Thomas Richards Charity help Jim and Carol.
In July 2022, Jim was hospitalized for three weeks with diabetic shock. He was also diagnosed with a Urinary disorder. Jim can no longer go to the bathroom on his own, so he must use catheters up to five times a day to empty his bladder.
In November, Carol was taken to the ER. She was misdiagnosed with arthritis in her back and a week later went back for a bacterial infection that had spread to her spine and through her bloodstream. She had to have surgery on her spine to remove the infection. She was hospitalized for six weeks and is now under at-home nurse care and receives physical and occupational therapy.
Jim was also hospitalized over this period due to his anxiety and being overwhelmed by all that was happening with his beloved wife.
Jim is 76 years old and has depression, anxiety, diabetes, and a mood disorder. He is also seeing a neurologist for his tremors, which make it difficult for him to do the simplest task like holding a cup of coffee. At this time, he cannot operate a vehicle. Carol is 78 and legally blind, along with her other medical issues. She can no longer do stairs and has a wheelchair that doesn't even go through their bedroom doors.
Their mobile home has been falling apart. They had a few workers come out to fix leaks and electrical problems, and they did a horrible job, so the problems never got fixed. The shower is rotted through the subflooring. They had major leaks and turned off the water for weeks until it could be fixed. The appliances are also in dangerous shape.
Their medical bills are stacking up. Jim and Carol need help. They must pay their medical bills and get their home back to a livable condition. Please help Thomas Richards Charity help these two get back on track.
100% of your donation goes to support Jim and Carol Lyons during this difficult time and is tax deductible.
