Jim Byard, the fight of my life for my life!
Hello, my name is Carol Garlin. I have 2 wonderful life long friends, Jim and Barbara Byard (Bobbie Forman) that have an urgent need. This is Jimmy’s story. Jimmy’s the type of person that you are thankful for having as your friend. Once you have met him, you will never forget him. He has a generous and loving spiritand is so very selfless in nature. He’s that person that goes out of his way to help those in need without hesitation and often when it even has meant that he would go without himself. He’s always there to guide, lead, or mentor those around him. He has a great love for the Lord, family and friends. Jimmy has been a self employed contractor for 29 years. He was diagnosed 10 years ago with type 2 diabetes which made it impossible to buy affordable medical insurance. He was blessed to be able to afford his diabetic supplies throughout the years, however, unfortunately, he has now been diagnosed with esophagus cancer. This has been a devastating and surprising diagnosis for a man of his age. It was also revealed that the cancer had spread throughout his lymph nodes. This makes the cancer very aggressive and demands aggressive and quick measures to be taken immediately. Time is of the essence. His life span will be shortened greatly without the immediate treatments of chemotherapy and radiation, possibly giving him only months to live. Jimmy has struggled with the decision of whether to move forward with treatments, since the treatments will likely drain their savings and leave his wife, Barbara and his family with the hardship of paying all the medical bills that will accumulate and leave them with nothing for their future. After careful consideration and hours of praying, the Lord has led him to move forward with the treatments and to reach out for help for the first time in his life. Following their lead, I first and foremost ask that everyone please lift Jimmy and his family up in prayer for healing and guidance throughout this journey. I also am starting this go fund me page and earnestly requesting financial help for this precious family that is struggling so much. Jimmy has been weak and has not been able to work since January 12th. I’m asking that you give whatever God puts on your heart to give. Donations will be for his treatments that start on February 22nd and for household expenses. He will be undergoing chemo and radiation treatments 5 days a week for 6 weeks in hopes to add longevity to his life. The doctors will be treating his cancer very aggressively. If we can all pull together and donate as much as possible as quickly as possible, it will relieve the burden of finances and will enable him to focus on getting better. May God Bless you and keep you. Thank you for the prayers and whatever you can donate from the bottom of my heart. Please share this page with your family and friends. Love Carol Garlin.
