Jim Berg, his wife Melissa and their 5 girls live in Morris, Manitoba. Jim has been diagnosed with severe degenerative disc disease (DDD) (dehydrated disc, loss of disc height, herniation) with spondylolisthesis causing severe stenosis of the spinal canal and of the bi-lateral foraminal openings at level L5/S1.

 Due to the amount of pain Jim has been in, he is unable to get around well and has not been able to work for some time. As the condition continues to get worse, the family has been looking into options for surgery.

They now have an opportunity to go to Germany for surgery on November 16th. The cost for all of the expenses of the surgery, flights, hotel stay, etc. will be approximately $55,000.
