Thank you so much to everyone who was able to contribute. I am continuously amazed by the generosity and compassion of our community. Our GoFundMe has reached its goal, and we now encourage you to contribute to other families that are in need.
My Dad and Nancy have been approved for an apartment and hope to be able to move in towards the end of October. This is not a permanent solution, but will offer them some measure of comfort and security in the months to come.

Watching the fires unfold this week across the country has been heart-wrenching. As an Ashland native it was particularly traumatic to watch the fire unfold in my home town. My dad, Jim and his wife Nancy were among the many people who lost their homes on Tuesday night as the Almeda fire swept through Phoenix, Oregon, in the Rogue Valley.
My dad was not at home when the evacuation was ordered and was literally left with nothing but the clothes on his back. I am so relieved to know that they are safe and that they will be able to move forward but they have literally lost everything, including their two beloved cats.
They are grieving and overwhelmed but are currently safe and staying in a hotel in Medford. Over the next several weeks they will need to buy clothes, toiletries, medication, and gas, while also needing to eat out for virtually every meal.
Jim and Nancy have been long time residents of Southern Oregon and it is devastating to see them having to rebuild at this time in their lives. Watching the the outpouring of support at this time is truly inspiring. Anything you can give is truly appreciated.
