On September 29th, 2020, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. To say it’s been a life changing event is an understatement. Everything I had planned for my future is now on hold indefinitely.

While I am lucky enough to have insurance, it won’t cover everything I’ll need as far as surgery and treatments. Like many people my job was affected by the pandemic. I’m still partially furloughed from my job and my side hustle as a social media manager has also been slashed to just one client left out of 20. My income has been cut by more than half with no end in sight.
