Hi everyone, my name is Kristyn. I am starting this fundraiser to help support the best person I know, I am blessed to call her my sister, Jill.
On January 31, 2023, Jill was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with Toxic Shock Syndrome and a fungal infection in her blood. She was put on a ventilator and has multiple organ system failures. Jill is one of the strongest people I know. For the last 2 weeks, Jill has been fighting for her life.
With prayers and a miracle, after approximately 14 days, Jill was taken off the ventilator and is able to breathe on her own. It looks like she has finally turned the corner and started to recover some of her functions. The doctors say she is young and with 3 to 4 months of intense therapy and a lot of hard work, she will be able to get back to the Jill we all know and love.
Jill is truly the best person and friend anyone could ask for. Her compassion for others has led her to two careers, one as an elementary school teacher and one as a nurse. Two jobs where you have to give the most of yourself. She is always helping others and now devoting her life to nursing. In the fall of 2022, Jill graduated from Sentara College with a Master of Science in Nursing degree. After years of hard work and preparation, Jill landed her dream job as a Nurse in the Step-Down/Intermediate Care Unit. After successfully completing orientation and her preceptorship, Jill worked her first 12 days as a nurse prior to being admitted to the ICU as a patient.
She is one of the most giving, unselfish souls put on this earth. Jill has an uncanny ability to connect with people instantly. She believes in the inherent goodness within all of us. Jill inspires others, including me, to become the best versions of themselves each and every day. Those who have spent even a day with her are able to feel her kind, loving and compassionate spirit.
This will allow the opportunity for others to provide her will a little help and support during her road to recovery. The money will help with her bills while she is out of work the months ahead. If you are able, please donate. Sending your prayers and positive thoughts are greatly appreciated as well.
Special notation: When you donate you will see a “tip” slide bar. Please customize this to $0.00 or 0% to ensure Jill gets all of the donations rather than a tip going to GoFundMe.
