Jill Tendler Pendergast & Lamp Shades Plus Memorial Fund

Jill Tendler Pendergast (60) passed away suddenly during an emergency surgery at Milford Hospital on December 15th. She is survived by her husband, John Pendergast and three children Jake, Dan and Rachel Pendergast.

Jill left behind Lamp Shades Plus, a small business that her parents Carol and Jim Tendler started over 40 years ago. The business is a retail store on the Boston Post Road in Orange, Connecticut. It has the largest selection of lamps and lamp shades in New England. During the Pandemic, Jill fought tooth and nail to keep her family business afloat so that residents all over Connecticut and beyond would be able to have beautiful lamps and lampshades to light up their homes. Her husband, John, specializes in lamp repairs and helped her out on the weekends after working at his small family medical practice during the week.

After her passing, her family found out that Jill was struggling to keep the business running during covid- she had over 20k of business expenses and rent that she could not keep up with due to the pandemic. Her family has committed to doing everything in their power to keeping the store alive in her mother’s honor. Rachel, Dan and their father have taken some time off from their regular jobs to work at the store for the past month trying to ensure business continues even though Jill can't be there to run it herself. 

I have created this GoFundMe in honor of Jill, a second mom to me growing up. If you knew Jill, you know how passionate she was about helping others. In this time of need I have created this fund to help her family who are the ones that need some help during this trying time.
