On June 27 while at the shore, Jill fell off of her bicycle. Only a month earlier, Jill had a stent placement and was prescribed blood thinners. The doctors are not sure whether Jill fell off of the bike and it caused a stroke or if she had a stroke that caused her to fall off of the bike. In either case, Jill had a major stroke and now faces a long road ahead …the real fight has just begun. I can only imagine how vulnerable Jill’s family feels when ALL you have to hold onto is hope. All anyone can do for them is be there and try to help where we can, but as each moment passes their medical bills keep piling up.

Anyone who knows Jill knows that she is a fun, loving and caring person. We all know how hard she has worked for 25 years dedicating her life to helping autistic children and their parents. Jill has devoted her life to Manny, her family, her friends and her students. We are all lucky to have Jill in our lives …I know I am.

Just when her life was going to change for the best (i.e. retirement just a few months away, purchasing a new home, finally relaxing and enjoying her next chapter), the unthinkable happened. Jill would definitely feel awkward asking anyone for help …and especially for monetary help. It’s why I have taken this step to reach out on her family’s behalf. After almost 40 years of love and friendship it’s the least I can do.

Jill, Manny and the “Molden” family have been blessed to have so many amazing friends and family members in their lives, and now need your help. We all know that our healthcare system just doesn’t cover all the necessary expenses to give Jill the quality of care that she needs. They cannot manage these costs alone …but together, I hope her community of loved ones will help them through this difficult journey.

Of course these are not great times for most people, so any amount of help is something I know they would be so grateful for. Please keep Jill in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all
