Hi, This is Jill Barnes-Hawkins. Fire destroyed Jill Carter's home Sunday night. She now has to begin the painful and costly journey of putting her life back together. The fire started in the living room and destroyed the entire house, with only a portion of two bedrooms still standing. She and Charlie and their son Jake escaped with the three dogs; her cat was found safe yesterday. She counts her blessings.

 

They are staying at their son's home for now. As you can imagine, they cannot replace the lifetime of mementos still; the immediate need is to find temporary housing, replace the essentials of day-to-day living, and salvage what they can in the rubble. Insurance will help, but this will be a long and costly journey.

 

She built lifelong friendships, family really, over her many years at Home Savings of America and later at First Republic Bank. She needs us now.
