Hello, friends! You may remember Jia's picture and story from about 2 years ago, when she was diagnosed with angiosarcoma, a rare type of cancer that forms in the lining of the blood vessels and lymph vessels. On May 29, 2025, Jia and her family received news that the cancer has come back and metastasized.

At just 20 years old now, Jia is fighting for her life.

Jia is a beloved light in the community-- she enjoys making music, is a loving older sister, and a hard worker, and resilient and tough as nails! Just over eight months ago, after stabilizing from her first rounds of cancer treatment, she took her first job ever with RCMA of Fellsmere, an organization that offers free childcare and VPK that provides dual-language early childhood education beyond daycare in a safe, loving environment. But due to the new diagnostics, Jia was heartbroken to resign from her position in order to start the battle of her lifetime: chemotherapy with a challenging prognosis.

Nemours Children's Hospital placed her port on 6/10/25 to start her journey with chemotherapy. She has already faced the first round of chemotherapy and has been incredibly sick. Jia's family and friends are throwing every ounce of energy they can into helping her in any way they can. If there's anything you can do at all to help all of us lift up Jia and her family by supporting them with deductibles, co-pays, medication, travel and unpaid time off, to give Jia a fighting chance, your contribution would ease the burden on Jia and her family, so she can focus on healing.

On behalf of Jia and her family and friends, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Anything you can give helps her family directly to cover the huge immediate medical costs of getting cancer treatment.

Jia, on her way home from her first chemo appointment, June 2025.

On behalf of Jia's friends and family, thank you for anything you can give. It will make a world of difference to a young woman fighting a critical cancer so she can let her light shine and let us love her so much longer.
