Theresa Herod, mother, daughter and friend passed away on 12/31/2020 from heart and lung complications. Theresa was only 53 years young and passed away in the hospital after being diagnosed with phemonia and ultimately a congential heart failure.
A note to my sister:
Theresa was more than my sister; she was my closest friend. Even though she was younger than me, from a young age she was wise beyond her years. My sister was a brilliant person who was very strong willed. I was happy to help her whenever she needed me, even though she was usually determined to solve problems on her own. We spent countless hours together as children and even more as adults. We would play games, have adventures, go to concerts, and stay up late into the night chatting.
She was a prankster and expressive, she enjoyed laughing and making others laugh. She always had a smile on her face and could brighten the darkest of days. She would always have a joke or funny story to tell whenever I saw her and I loved her positive fun-loving attitude. Theresa was a very compassionate person. She cared immensely for her fiance Philip. He was her heart, soul, and kept her going for the past 10 years. If it wasn't for his undying love for her, we wouldn't have been blessed with more years and memories with her. She loved her friends, family, pets and especially her grandchildren. She surrounded those children with her love and her full attention. I’m sure that I wasn’t the only one who was surprised by her devotion when she became a grandmother. Theresa was one of the most loving and caring people that I have ever met.
Theresa enjoyed cooking and even enjoyed looking forward to the next meal. She will always be remembered for her warmth, compassion, generosity and overall love for life. Her unflagging optimism, and her great big grandmother’s heart. My sister set an example to everyone she met of how to live life and inspired everyone who knew her. I am truly honored that Theresa was my sister and will look back on our time together with fond memories. God Speed, Theresa – Heaven only knows what’s in store for you next! Your memory will live on in my heart forever.
Theresa is survived by her finace Phillip, her 4 children Johhny, Cristina, Raymond and Anthony and her 4 grandchildren. We are asking donations to help with her funeral arrangements and unpaid medical bills. Her family will be struggling with their grief so hopefully we can help support them financially during this time to ease their burden.
