JHU ChemBE GSLC Community Donation Campaign
Donation protected
The Graduate Student Liaison Committee (GSLC) of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChemBE) at The Johns Hopkins University is a group of graduate student volunteers responsible for event planning and representing the graduate student body in the department.
Last week, the ChemBE Department’s Committee on Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) released a statement in support of the Black Lives Matter Movement. The GSLC stands in full support of the statement’s content as well as all of the initiatives proposed in the statement. In parallel to the efforts of the CDI, we want to help contribute to the movement in whatever ways we can, especially in the local Baltimore area.
We are starting a donation matching campaign to help out local nonprofit organizations that focus on empowering Baltimore youths and improving their education. All funds raised will be donated to the Baltimore Algebra Project and Living Classrooms; both are nonprofit organizations that focus on youth education in Baltimore and Washington, DC. Depending on how much money is raised, the GSLC will match up to $4000.
