Central Park NYC Adopt-A-Bench Memorial Jhonatan

This page was set up to adopt a bench & plaque in Central Park through the NYC ADOPT-A-BENCH program in honor of the great Jhonatan Diaz. The idea came to me as I recalled a beautiful memory of my big brother. One day, I accompanied him to work in one of his trucks and as we were driving he said with a bright smile of his: "I love New York Mija, Jhonatan Trucking is in all 5 boroughs!". This bench would serve as a place for his sons, wife, family, friends, and employees to visit to commemorate all the memories we have of him and how we can continue to #livelikejay

Esta página se creó para adoptar un banco y una placa en Central Park a través del programa NYC ADOPT-A-BENCH en honor al gran Jhonatan Díaz. La idea me vino al recordar un hermoso recuerdo de mi hermano mayor. Un día lo acompañé al trabajo en una de sus camionetas y mientras conducíamos dijo con una brillante sonrisa suya: "Me encanta Nueva York Mija, ¡Jhonatan Trucking está en los 5 condados!". Este banco serviría como un lugar para que lo visiten sus hijos, esposa, familia, amigos y empleados para conmemorar todos los recuerdos que tenemos de él y cómo podemos continuar #livelikejay

Hello, my name is Francine Diaz and I am Jhonatan's little sister. On December 23, 2021, my family's world was shattered by the passing of Jhonatan due to medical malpractice.

Jhonatan Diaz at the age of 29 accomplished what most people don't in their lifetimes. He moved to Kearny NJ from Ecuador at a young age and graduated from Kearny High School in 2010. Jhonatan had a love for Mixed Martial Arts and trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu winning dozens of North American Grappling competitions all throughout his highschool career. At the age of 18 he launched Jhonatan Trucking LLC in Kearny NJ and then expanded to Budd Lake NJ. He grew his company from the bottom up amassing a fleet of 23 trucks with nothing but hard work and a dream. Jhonatan became everyones greatest supporter and particularly had a special love for education and the work of Saint James School- which all three of us Diaz sisters attend. If anyone around him needed any sort of help, Jhonatan would be the first person to offer a helping hand. He was the most amazing father to Damian & Dominic Diaz and a loving husband. He was the greatest son, brother, and cousin, and I can and will go on the rest of my life talking about his generous heart, beautiful soul and perseverant spirit.

It's been a bit over a year since his passing, but the number of lives he touched through his kindness and contagious smile is proven as he remains the topic of conversation and admiration for so many people. Jhonatan is an amazing role model and he continues to be as he was a leader for good. <3

Hola, mi nombre es Francine Diaz y soy la hermana menor de Jhonatan. El 23 de diciembre de 2021, el mundo entero de mi familia quedó destrozado por el fallecimiento de Jhonatan debido a una negligencia médica.

Jhonatan Diaz a la edad de 29 años logró lo que la mayoría de la gente no logra en su vida. Se mudó a Kearny NJ a una edad temprana de Ecuador y se graduó de Kearny High School en 2010. Jhonatan amaba las artes marciales mixtas y entrenó Jiu-Jitsu brasileño y ganó docenas de competencias de Grappling en América del Norte a lo largo de su carrera en la escuela secundaria. A la edad de 18 años, lanzó Jhonatan Trucking LLC en Kearny NJ y luego se expandió a Budd Lake NJ. Hizo crecer su empresa de abajo hacia arriba acumulando una flota de 23 camiones con nada más que trabajo duro y un sueño. Jhonatan se convirtió en el mayor apoyo de todos y particularmente tenía un amor especial por la educación y el trabajo de la escuela Saint James, a la que asistimos las tres hermanas Díaz. Si alguien a su alrededor necesitaba algún tipo de ayuda, Jhonatan sería la primera persona en ofrecer una mano. Fue el padre más increíble para Damian y Dominic Diaz y un esposo amoroso. Era el mejor hijo, hermano y primo, y puedo y seguiré hablando el resto de mi vida sobre su corazón generoso, su alma hermosa y su espíritu perseverante.

Ha pasado un poco más de un año desde su fallecimiento, pero la cantidad de vidas que tocó a través de su amabilidad y sonrisa contagiosa se demuestra, ya que sigue siendo el tema de conversación y admiración de tanta gente. Jhonatan es un modelo a seguir increíble y sigue siendo un líder para siempre. <3
