Hi. My name is Tina Rivera. On Wednesday our family’s life was turned upside down. My husband and I left the house for 30 minutes to come home to black smoke. Our kitchen had caught fire our animals still inside. One of our cats was got out safely our dog and other cat were not so lucky. Our 7 year old husky/lab Tucker passed away. Our other cat, phoebe, has been in the emergency vet on Adelaide. She is getting better slowly. No burns but she has been on oxygen. Limited movement but slowly increasing. It is truly heartbreaking to see her. They originally wanted to keep her a week but we have no where near the funds for that. They are keeping her for 32 hours from when they brought her in. Between Phoebe and Tucker are vet bills are at about $5,000. She will have lifelong problems. With everything else we are having to deal with at the moment it has not been easy. Any help is appreciated it.
the photo is 24 hours after the fire. Doing better. Movements are slow, she still has wounds on her eyes, and oxygen.
update may 16: Phoebe is permanently blind due to the smoke. Vet says little chance her regaining any vision.
