Fire Relief

Hi, my name is John. I am somewhat embarrassed to say I am raising funds for myself. This is my story.

In October 2023 we experienced an apartment fire. We were covered by insurance, but not nearly so much as is required. The fire destroyed nearly everything we own. We have been living in a hotel ever since. Insurance has helped so far, but the money is rapidly running out.

We are battling with the insurance company who is refusing to pay the restoration company for the work they did in restoring what goods we do have left. That bill is over $40,000. (I have no idea how it got to be so high). Within the next 4 or 5 weeks we will be out of money and on the street. Our apartment has not yet been restored to a livable state. I am 76 years old and unable to work very much.

I am hoping beyond hope that there are people out there who might be willing to help. If we are successful in raising some funds anything that is above what we actually need will be donated to charity. Please let us know if you have a favorite charity.
