My name is Lauren, and I am creating this Go Fund Me for my sister, Shannon Seals. Shannon has recently received devastating news. Last January, she found out she had thyroid cancer. She went to MD Anderson and had the surgery for it and everything seemed to be going well since then. This January, she felt a lump in her breast. She had a mammogram and biopsy, which revealed Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. This is a common cancer of the breast, but is also very aggressive. She has seen her local Oncologist and she also has an appointment at MD Anderson February 12th and will be in Houston for about a week. The doctors will develop an action plan made specifically for her cancer and her body. We know she is in good hands and we know God is already at work. Firstly, I am asking for daily prayers for her, her spouse who is away working in Africa, her children who are her world, and our family. Our father may also be fighting this fight too, as he recently had news of a positive colon cancer screening. He will see the doctor early February to schedule more testing. We are a very close-knit family, so their fight IS our fight. We need all of the prayers and support we can get right now.

Shannon is a huge asset to her community. She is a devoted mother of 3, a loving wife, and a Nurse Practitioner to so many patients on the coast. She is active in her church and is always helping others. She works three jobs to keep things going and to help serve her community. She will be traveling often and this will mean hotel expenses, food and gas expenses, and medical expenses. All of her medical expenses must be paid upfront before any treatment will be rendered. I am asking for monetary donations to be made to help alleviate these costs and help ease her stress and worries financially. It is likely she will need surgery and/or chemotherapy, so continuing to work three jobs is just not something we want her doing. Shannon never asks for anything.
