Our friend, the talented artist John Barrick, was sign painting in Oakland when the scissor lift he was in tipped over. It crashed from a height of 25'. As the lift fell, John jumped off and broke his tailbone, compressed his spine, bruised bones, and suffered from internal bleeding.
He was in the hospital for almost a week and recently returned due to a grapefruit-sized blood clot. He will require intensive physical therapy for two months and will be out of work for at least the remainder of this year.
John is the most humble person you will ever meet and would never ask for help on his own. His friends have all discussed putting this together, but each one fears him telling them "no!" On behalf of all the friends that want to help, you can support him here.
Hopefully, this GoFundMe can help cover some of his medical costs and make these holidays a little easier. We look forward to seeing him get back to doing what he loves. Thanks for your support.
