On January 5, 2021, Bill Powers passed away unexpectedly at the age of 50 due to a devastating stroke
Anyone that knows Bill or has been around him truly knows what an outstanding guy he was. He was the guy that would always lend a hand, come to your home to help with projects, and give 100 percent to everything he did. Bill was active in the local community and served on Board of Directors for both Stoughton Youth Baseball, and Stoughton Flag Football.
He would often be found outdoors at the fields either coaching a team or just spending time playing with his kids. He was always willing to toss extra batting practice to any player in need or get to the concession stand to get things started before anyone else was even at the fields. In addition to what he did in the local community, he was also an assistant coach at Dirt Dawg Sports where he volunteered time coaching his son’s 12-year-old baseball team.
His proudest accomplishment in life was his family. The love between Bill and Karen began in high school 33 years ago. Their love grew stronger as they brought 2 beautiful children into the world. Julie (16), Billy (12). Bill’s stroke was unexpected and untimely just prior to Christmas. While the family held out hope for any sort of recovery, he ultimately passed with just Karen by his side in his final hour. The children unfortunately were not able to be with Bill and Karen at this time and our hearts go out to them all.
An event like this can never be planned for. It is with the utmost humility and gratitude that we ask for your help by donating to the family. Karen and the kids have a long hard road ahead of them. We are raising money to help alleviate the financial burdens they will face in adjusting to the new reality. No amount of money can replace what they have lost, but we would like to provide some financial security to help them in the future.
His family is exceptionally grateful for all the outpouring of love and support Bill received during this difficult time. If you can, please consider a donation. Thank you for keeping his family in your thoughts and for any contributions made to this fund.
