Let's save Johnny's eye
Donation protected
Johnny is a 19 months old boy from Poland . Two months ago He was diagnosed with
retinoblastoma a very rare type of cancer which
consists of a malignant tumor in the eye. This type of cancer is
particularly dangerous, because it has the potential to spread to a child's
other eye, and even to the brain. Johnny needs to receive treatment as
soon as possible, in the hope of saving his eye, and preventing the spread
of the cancer. It would be a tragedy for Johnny to lose his eye or
completely lose his eyesight when treatment options are available.
Unfortunately, effective treatment for this type of cancer requires medical
procedures performed by highly specialized doctors in premier medical
clinics. In Poland, where the treatment for this disease is not as
advanced as in the United States, the doctors want to simply remove
Johnny's eye to prevent the spread of the cancer.
However, we believe that there is hope for Johnny. Dr. David Abramson at
Sloan Kettering Medical Center in New York City is one of the world's
leading physicians in this area. He has treated many children with
conditions similar to Johnny's, and we are very optimistic that he can help
Johnny as well. But each appointment and treatment is extremely expensive,
and the Polish insurance system does not cover most of the sophisticated
treatments that are necessary to save Johnny's eyes. The bill for Johnny's
treatment is likely to reach as high as US$150,000.
Johnny is our little angel, and we are working tirelessly to save his eye.
Please help our little boy to fight this terrible disease. Join our fight
again cancer! Any donation of any size is greatly appreciated. And please
spread the word as widely as possile about our cause.
