Help Tiffany Beat Cancer

Hi.

My name is Tiffany Bowman, and I have stage 4 melanoma cancer

Life was normal for me and my 10-year-old son Zayden until October 2021, when a growth that I had been monitoring on the back of my leg ruptured, sending me to the emergency room at Providence medical center in Olympia. I was admitted for tests, and after a week's stay, the doctors told me I had melanoma cancer. I was shocked and scared. I seldom was sick, and there was no history of cancer in my family. So what would happen to me, and more importantly, what would happen to Zayden?

I work as an Early Childhood Educator, and I love my job. It would now be impossible to continue working. My mother Ria Barnard worked from home and, without hesitation, took a leave of absence, volunteering to take care of me through the difficult stages of chemotherapy and all of the other complications arising from cancer treatment. She already had experience with being a home care provider, so Zayden and I moved into her house. My twin sister Megan, who lived in Nevada, moved back home to be close to the family and me. The support of my family and friends is amazing. God has given me the strength to fight this disease, and that is what I will do!

We are not a wealthy family. We are like most people living in Grays harbor. I was raised here attending Weatherwax High School and intend to raise my son here so he can understand the importance of having "roots" and what it means to belong to a community

I have expenses, and they come every month. I live a simple lifestyle, and it is hard for me to ask for help, but it is necessary to keep our heads above water. The change in my diet, the cost of medicines, and the expense of so many trips to Olympia deplete my small resources. I do not know how long it will be until I can return to a more normal life. So I am starting this GO FUND ME to help with my care and recovery and hope for the best. I must be realistic about my situation.
