Help Save Echo’s Life
Donation protected

Hi,
As some of you may know, Jake and I recently relocated to Texas due to military orders. Upon moving here, we learned what a crisis this area was facing with stray animals and overflowing shelters. Recently, we decided to take in one of those helpless animals as a foster-to-adopt. We thought how lucky are we, to find a German Shepherd puppy (about 12 weeks old!) in the shelter. And, she had only been there for a little of a day when we brought her home on Saturday (2/10) evening.
Little did we know how fast our luck would change.
On Monday 2/12, little Echo began wheezing and coughing a bit. Echo had been within our sight 24/7 since bringing her home and in her kennel if we’re asleep or not around. We thought it’s possible she may have caught something in the shelter or during her time as a stray pup on the streets, perhaps kennel cough or an upper respiratory infection.
On Tuesday night (2/13), Echo began a slow, steady nose bleed. We kept it clean and monitored, she was still eating and drinking and using the bathroom normally. By Thursday morning (2/15), the bleeding had continued and Echo had begun declining. She visited our vet who suspected Echo may have been poisoned or got into poison (rat poison or something similar) prior to us bringing her home. Ingestion of such poison can take up to a week for symptoms to occur. A blood loss like this can be fatal.
The vet supplied us with Vitamin K as an antidote for the suspected poison, however Echo more than likely will need a blood transfusion and/or emergency care that is far out of our budget. We are desperate to save this sweet girls life, but she is rapidly declining in front of us.
All funds from this GoFundMe will support Echo’s ER stay and further bills for blood transfusions. If you’d like to donate to the vet directly on our behalf, please contact me directly and I can assist.
Thank you in advance for helping this sweet baby get a second chance.
