Support Xander's Fight Against Type 1 Diabetes

Hello, I am raising funds for my 13-year-old son, Xander, who was just diagnosed with Type 1 or Juvenile diabetes. He was feeling very weak and complaining of leg and abdominal pain. I took him to the ER because recent labs came back abnormal. Once in the ER, he was very ill with his blood glucose (sugar) being 598. Xander was being brave despite being afraid and sick. He was being transferred to Valley Children's Hospital by helicopter. He has never been on a plane or anything like that before, so he was both excited and nervous. Once at Children's, Xander had to get 2 IV infusions of saline and potassium, as well as insulin. He was admitted and we stayed there for 3 days so I could learn how to give insulin shots to Xander. He requires 24 hour monitoring as his sugars are not at goal at this time. I'm trying to raise money for him to be able to get healthy foods and snacks (we now have to prepare his school lunches every day, and provide snacks for school). He has lost a ton of weight from this condition and needs some new clothes that fit him better. I'd like to be able to get him a mini fridge so he can know that anything in there is a "free" snack meaning he can eat it without getting a shot. Finally, we will need to go back to Valley Children's for his follow up care so a little money for medical travel expenses are necessary. This was an emergency I hope none of you have to experience. Dm1 is a sneaky disease that just crept up right under our noses. Anything will help our battle. Thank you.
