Raymond's Hospice Journey

Hi, My name is Janella Voliotis, and I'm Fundraising for my father, Raymond Bailey, our Protector

On February 17, 2021, our beloved father Raymond Bailey, the rock of our family, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Raymond’s family and friends know him as “Toughie” because he is Tough and Strong. We were heartbroken and devastated when our family received this news, knowing what this meant. Pancreatic cancer is known to be the “ silent killer,” and dad was fortunate to have caught it in time. He had been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for 13 months to help stop the cancer from growing. This treatment gave us hope and gave us the time to spend with him.

 Unfortunately, on March 18, 2022, his doctors had informed him that the cancer was too aggressive and that the treatments were no longer effective. The cancer is now considered distant because it spread to his stomach and liver and causes excruciating pain constantly. The doctors advised him and our family to call hospice to guide him on the next steps.

His most recent intentions were to travel to California to spend quality time with his children. Still, due to the risk of blood clots paired with his constant pain and lack of oxygen in his lungs, we don't want him to travel because of the great health risk associated with his pancreatic cancer. But Dad's final wishes are to see two of his daughters and grandchildren and his first great-grandchild, whom he has never had a chance to meet yet. Their families live out of state in California, and due to the current state of the nation and local circumstances, they are unable to afford the entire trip out on their own

 This news is so devastating to our entire family. Their living expenses have and will continue to add up. So any help to alleviate financial stressors while we make his end of life as comforting as possible will be appreciated very much. Donations would also fund my Step-Sisters and their kids and make their trip possible.
