My heart breaks to even be writing this. A dear family friend of ours suffered the unimaginable loss of their 6-year-old daughter, Dan Osman.

Dan was a first grader at Newell Elementary here in Grand Island, Nebraska. Many around her described her as full of life, playful, kind, and with a smile that could brighten the darkest day. She loved being around her friends and family and was a role model for all those around her. Dan brought joy to just about everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Cause of death: appendix rupture

No parent should ever have to go through this kind of heartbreak. Along with the grief, her family is now faced with unexpected expenses for her funeral and memorial. We started this fundraiser because we want them to feel the love and support of their friends, family, and community during this devastating time.
