Support Funding of Book of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in Maori for Maori Children
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ is an internationally famous English publication which has been translated into Māori.
Books of this nature are not readily available in New Zealand/Aotearoa to Māori children in Māori.
We are raising funds in order to provide a copy of the Māori ‘Alice’ to Māori immersion schools, to schools teaching Māori Culture, and those supporting the revival of the Māori Language.
So we invite you to support our initiative. Your donation will go toward the publication, shipping and distribution of copies to these types of schools.
Tom Roa is the translator. Ellen (Ellie) Schaefer-Salins and Tom are co-ordinating this important initiative in support of the Māori Language which is threatened to be lost to English,.
(Thank you to the University of Waikato, Lena Salins and Jon Lindseth for their assistance with this project!)
