Hello everyone - my name is MacKenzie Allsup, and I am making this GoFundMe page on behalf of my family for my stepfather, Dalton Papka, who has unfortunately suffered from not just one, but 2 strokes this past week.

His first stroke was the more severe of the two, but he is now left with right side paralysis, double to no vision, and aphasia. After being in critical condition since Monday morning, his CT scans have finally shown no more progression, thank goodness.

That being said, Dalton has since been moved to the rehabilitation portion of the hospital where he will be living for approximately 6-8 weeks. He will be receiving aggressive speech, occupational, and physical therapy there.

It has yet to be a week of hospitalization and his insurance only covers so much. With all of the additional scans, treatments, and medications, the numbers are climbing higher and higher for out-of-pocket expenses.

Plans post-rehab are very up in the air at this moment, but we can already assume where he is going to be living will definitely need handicap accessibility.

We would really love for him to be able to solely focus on his recovery and adjustment to a new way of life.
