Help for the Walters Family

I started this fundraiser to help a friend, a teacher whom I worked with for the past 2 years as his Teacher Assistant at NorthPointe Christian Elementary. Hans Walters is an incredible teacher who has devoted his life to leading his students. Hans lives with a debilitating visual disability - which is why he requires an Assistant. But, the Lord has now asked him to walk an even more difficult road.

After just a couple of weeks into this new school year, Hans suffered a stroke. THANKFULLY, the damage suffered was minimal: mostly short-term memory loss. However, after the stroke, he had some scans done - which have now revealed a 5cm mass in his chest that needs to be removed in just a few weeks. After removal, it will be determined cancerous or not.

As a result of these new health challenges, Hans made the decision to step away from teaching. This was a painfully difficult financial decision: he and his wife have 3 beautiful children, who also have varying challenges. The medical bills are now starting to accumulate - and I wanted to try to help!
