Send Us To DC

Hello everyone - my name is Sarah Vroegop. I’m a junior at Calvin studying International Relations and Writing, and I’m planning on participating in Calvin’s DC semester program in the spring of 2020. Andrea Jordan is one of my best friends. She’s an international student from Guatemala, and she’s a junior majoring in Social Work and African and African Diaspora studies. She wants to go to DC too. In DC, Andrea could fulfill her internship requirement for Social Work: DC gives social work students more opportunities to explore the world of policy change and creation, particularly within Andrea’s interest to work with women and communities of color.

Andrea has already been accepted into this DC semester program which would provide an opportunity for her to not only learn more about the world of social work, but also leverage the knowledge she’s gained during her time at Calvin. In the DC program, she’d be able to contribute her unique perspective, her strong voice, and her commitment to positive social change in the world.  All she needs is the cost of room and board - which is $5,000.
