This year, our marching band has been selected to represent the state of Connecticut in the Vietnam Veterans Parade, taking place on March 29, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is an incredible honor and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students to not only perform on a national stage, but to also pay tribute to veterans and immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of Hawaii.

Our band consists of approximately 70 talented and dedicated students, ranging from freshmen to seniors, who pour their hearts into their music and performances. In addition to marching in the parade, our students will visit Pearl Harbor, perform on the historic USS Missouri, and experience elements of Polynesian culture—broadening their horizons in ways that simply can’t be replicated in the classroom.

This milestone is especially meaningful considering that our band program was only established three years ago by Mr. Nick Drabik. His vision, passion, and selfless dedication—while also raising his own family—have laid the foundation for this thriving program. He has inspired our students to believe in themselves and to understand the value of hard work and perseverance.

While we are immensely proud to be chosen for this honor, such a journey comes with significant financial costs. We are committed to making this experience accessible to all of our students, regardless of financial background, and we are reaching out to our community for support.
