Millions of animals a year are left homeless, abused, abandoned, neglected, and disabled in Pakistan. From animals whose bodies were abused for labor, to animals who are being sold like objects at the flea market and many other horrific situations, it almost seems as if these helpless creatures have no one to speak for them.

JFK Animal Rescue and Shelter has decided to do everything in its power to lend a helping hand to every animal in need in Pakistan. The team formed after our founder's beloved dog, Kiki, was shot to death. Now our amazing team rescues thousands of animals a year in her memory. The rescue operations are conducted not only in Lahore but in other cities across the country too. Our fantastic rescuers rescue, treat and rehabilitate many types of animals including cats, birds, donkeys, and dogs. We have an extensive clinic at the shelter and multiple vets that treat all animals and provide them the required medical care. While we rescue various creatures, we have specialties in certain areas, that most other rescues tend to lack.

For example, JFK is a permanent home for many abused and abandoned working donkeys where they live a life of retirement and are taken care of. Complete medical and nutritional care is provided to the donkeys and they are free to rest for their entire lives. When donkeys are no longer able to carry weights due to sickness or broken legs, they are carelessly dumped and left to die. We pick them up and provide them with the necessary treatments and care, as donkeys are the most abused animals in our country. But as stated before, our work does not end there, not only are we working with donkeys but we also go out of our way to rescue the many animals being prodded at and starved in the markets in Lahore.

JFK has been saving hundreds of caged and abused animals from Tollinton Market. Not only are we getting them out but we also conduct free medical camps at pet shops and treat the sick and dying animals. Our selfless team goes to such pet shops each day to feed, clean, and treat captive animals. We are actively working for the betterment and well-being of the animals and require help from everyone so no animals have to suffer. The more people join hands with us in our cause, the more lives we can save.

In a country where animal culling and poisoning is at a peak, we are desperately trying to provide safety to as many animals as possible and for that, we go to different residential areas and societies from where we pick the street dogs to save them from being culled and move them to their sanctuary where they are spayed and neutered. Our ambulance works round the clock to rescue injured and dying animals from the roads. Most of them are hit-and-run cases that lose the ability to walk again and are living a comfortable life with us. We currently have over 200 animals who need help. We CANNOT do this on our own! The work we do with animals becomes around-the-clock care, as we have advanced medical cases. Not only that, but we are largely active in campaigns to help end the suffering of these creatures and put forward legislation that will help protect them and give them rights.

We are requesting for donations to go towards the shelter, as we have even bigger goals this year along with expansion and development of the shelter. With a small donation, you can ensure the lives of thousands of animals in Pakistan that are everyday victims of hit and run, acid attacks, abuse and illnesses. With a trap/neuter/release program in place and programs to teach children the importance of being kind to animals in schools, it’s safe to say we have all the best intentions involved.
