My best friend Hazel Aurelie Pinnipe, a beautiful young transwoman from Norfolk, VA recently had an attempt to end her own life. She fell about 5 stories from the top of an apartment building the morning of September 15th suffering broken arms, legs, ribs, pelvic bone, a completely shattered upper and lower jaw and some missing teeth. She’s currently strapped to a medical bed in critical condition. Her skull and spine are in tact and she can move her fingers and toes very slightly which means that she is not paralyzed at all from what we know so far, and she’s been able to communicate with us through shaking her head up and down, opening her eyes and clenching our hands which means she’s still in there. Her survival was a miracle and a full recovery is possible in the distant future but we need help. Hazel’s family is estranged and completely uninvolved with her condition in the hospital, she only has me, one of our friends and her roommate by her side in the hospital every night. Medical expenses are going to be astronomically high due to her condition, and facial reconstructive surgery is going to be the worst of it as every bone in her face just completely shattered. Not to mention her rent is completely past due as well and they’re in the process of getting evicted, so all of their stuff needs to be out of the apartment by October at the latest and we need to find a place to take care of her while she’s homeless. I’m asking anyone reading this to please help us save our friend’s life. All donations go towards her medical expenses, reconstructive surgery, and physical therapy.
