Titan Up & Help Josh Evans!

A new and updated message about the on line auction!!

Due to some things that have occurred that are out of our control, the online auction has been postponed, not cancelled. We are still collecting items and are now looking at a target date for the auction to kick off the first week in November

We are continuing to accept donations and wanted to let all donors know that the money raised will be going toward equipping Josh's home with several items recommended by his Occupational Therapists as well as his physicians. These will include, but not be limited to, bathroom grab bars, seating and additional items to assist Josh and his Mom as he works on his strength and independence. There will also be additions and changes in other parts of his home. Josh is grateful for all the support he's received from all of you!

As you all know we have surpassed our 2nd goal and 'There's No Stopping Us Now'!

We surpassed our original goal in a little over a week.  Our campaign was active for just over a month and we passed goal #2 .  So as we continue into OCTOBER AND FOOTBALL SEASON, we're reaching for the stars and our goal of $10,000!!

Keep an eye on this page for some important information on the Online Auction coming in November to help us reach our new goal. Hint: there will be some very unique, very cool Titans memorabilia included as well as a few fun "experiences" with some of Josh's teammates! So stay tuned!

As always, I'd like to thank Jim Wyatt for the two great articles on Josh and the inclusion of this page's link!

I also want to add another tremendous THANK YOU to everyone who has donated. Please tell your friends about what we're doing!! If you have not donated yet, it's not too late and no donation is too small. If you can't donate, we understand. If you can send this out to your followers that would be truly appreciated! And of course we are always asking you to send your prayers, love and good thoughts to Josh and his family.

The following is the story of how Josh and I met and how this campaign of love began.

Hi, name is Susan Dragotto McFarlin and I have known Josh Evans for more than 20 years.  When we met he was a player for the Tennessee Titans and I was in the Community Relations Department, the year was 1999.

I used to have to bug the players to sign items that would later be donated to charities. Josh and the d-line were always cooperative. NOT !! I would stand at a table outside the locker room and catch them when they came out after practice. Some tried to run from me, literally, (you know who you are "The Freak") but eventually I got them to stop & sign.

I also took Josh for school & hospital visits. We'd see kids at assemblies and patients in various states of recovery. Some would be ready to go home soon but some were really sick.

That's what brings me here. Josh is currently in the fight of his life against a very aggressive cancer. I remember how, at times, I had to leave the players in a hospital room to go out in the hall and have a good cry. That's exactly how I felt when I heard about Josh and his cancer.

We've started this fund so that everyone who knows Josh, loves Josh or just wants to help him and his family can make a donation of any size and ease the financial burden of this aggressive illness.

Thank you so much, in advance, for your donations as well as your prayers and love.

Please let me also thank some very special people who have helped so much with this "labor of love". Thanks to Mike Jones (the Good One-that's an inside joke), Lemanski Hall, Reverend John Frederick, Coach Steve Waterson, Chris Sanders, Derrick Mason, Keith Bullock, Penny Kennedy, Kevin Long, Al DelGreco, Kenny Holmes, and last but absolutely not least "The Freak", Jevon Kearse. If I have left anyone out, I apologize. I always blame my forgetfulness on age!

The link below will take you to a great article written by Jim Wyatt that really tells the whole story. My thanks to Jim!
