Hi, this is Ken’s daughter Lilly, and I’m hoping to be able to spend time with my dad and take care of him at home while we still have the chance. He recently broke his hip, and because of his traumatic brain injury, he’s having difficulty during post op recovery and has already dislocated his replacement. He’s at a rehab facility in Richmond, but isn’t doing well in the strange environment. After caring for him earlier this year, I know what to expect and have had the chance to get a lot of support lined up for his home care. Unfortunately, recent labs show a worsening anemia, and I’m worried that the thing I want most, which is to spend some quality time with him, won’t be possible unless I get him into my care as soon as possible.
I need support to pay for the moving expenses, various supplies, home health aide, and to help cover the costs associated with setting up a comfortable environment that he can enjoy and have visitors and the company of loved ones. My goal is to get 3 months covered in order to get everything set up and get him into the new space by the 1st of July. I’ve been approved for a place at 3900 Adeline that’s wheelchair accessible and secure with a lovely courtyard and is close to everything. Now I just need to make sure I can get him home before it’s too late and give him the time and care he needs and deserves. Any contribution is extremely helpful and I can provide you with details on where and how to pay him a visit- please reach out!
