"Whatever souls are made of... Hers and mine are the same."
Recently Lyric Josephine started looking a little funny as one pupil was a different size than the other so I made an appointment with her vet.
He didn't seem concerned but also didn't really have a reason for why it was happening. We were given antibiotics and told to come back in 10 days. Within four days she was getting worse not better so I made an appointment for a second opinion.
The new vet seemed to care a lot more, checked her more thoroughly and did blood work to see if we could figure out what is going on. She also suggested that I see a Veterinary opthalmologist to have her checked for Glaucoma. Of course there aren't many of those and appointments were booked through July...But I got her in within two days.
By then her poor eye had gone from bad to worse. Third eyelid swollen and protruding. Then I took her to the eye doctor who discovered the pressure in her eyes were fine so not Glaucoma! He ran more tests for infectious diseases and took a sample of the fluid behind her eye.

Monday morning I got a call. All of her blood work was good, all organs normal, no infections diseases....but the fluid revealed that she had stage 5 Lymphoma.
WHAT?! She was fine a week ago. She is still acting normal. CANCER?! Not my baby!!
He suggested seeing an Oncologist and then go from there.
We were there bright and early the next morning.
She was officially diagnosed with a RARE MANIFESTATION OF OCULAR LYMPHOMA with Chemotherapy as an option. The oncologist asked if I wanted to go that route and of course there was no hesitation.
They gave her a starter injection before the actual chemo starts and was supposed to kill whatever the lymphoma is surviving on. 15 hours later and she looked like my beautiful angel again! The way she responded and the fact that all other tests are normal AND that she has acted completely normal through all of this, gave a lot of hope in the chemotherapy!
These pics are 24 hours apart!!

Lyric started the actual chemo yesterday and I now have an idea of the amount we are looking at. But with having to go through so many specialists within two weeks the bills have already started piling up. Thanks to COVID, my husband and I are out of work until probably next year (live music business) and I need a little help to keep my angel with me for years to come!! Ive had this little nugget since she was 3 days old and I can not live without her. Anything helps, even just sharing this if you aren't able to donate!
Thank you from the bottom of this Cat Mamas heart!!<3
