Hi, my name is Stephanie and Daniel. Our cat George is in the Emergency Vet ICU since January 3, 2026 due to a blocked urinary tract. He’s been on fluids and has had a urinary catheter placed. Each time they try taking out the catheter, it seems that he’s still not able to pee. Although the blood in the urine has cleared, and we are trying different medications for pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms to help him urinate. The vet said that we will try one more time to place another urinary catheter, which consists of sedating him every time, and after 24 hours, they pull it again. We run into the same issue of him not being able to urinate without the catheter. The vet said we will have to transfer him to K-State for surgery. Without the surgery, he may not make it because he will retain his urine and it will cause kidney damage. We are currently starting to swim in vet bills with his normal vet that we took him to for blood in his urine, and now the Emergency Vet with possible surgery. I don’t want him to pass away or be in pain for this long. It breaks my heart to not have him home with us. He’s only one to two years old; we adopted him at the Kansas Humane Society. I would really appreciate even the smallest amount of help so we can get him taken care of so he can live longer and live a full life. I’ve never had to ask for help like this, but I am becoming stressed and frantic about the situation. Thank you for any possible future donations. It really means a lot to Daniel and me to help us with our boy
