This Go Fund Me is to raise funds to enable Hunter to pay for top surgery.

Hunter first told me he is trans in June 2021, and although I was already aware he had some issues with his body, I didn't fully understand the extent of his dysphoria until then.

Since then he has transitioned socially, changed his name by deed poll, and started taking testosterone to begin his medical transition.

The change in him mentally & emotionally is amazing, he is so much happier than he was, is more engaged within the family, and his self confidence is growing. My only regret is that he spent so many years keeping it to himself.

I can only imagine how hard it must be to exist inside the wrong body, and how wonderful it must be feeling your body change to align with who you actually are. So obviously I will do whatever I can to help and support Hunter in his transition.

Unfortunately the waiting list to be seen by an NHS gender clinic is over 3 years, and that's just for the initial consultation. So we made the decision to pay for private treatment. Top surgery will cost somewhere in the region of £8k-£10k, so anything you can donate towards it will be very gratefully received.
