Bishoff Family Fire Relief Fund

On Thursday morning, October 17, 2019, John and Pat Bishoff lost their home and nearly all of their belongings in a three-alarm fire that began in the garage. They and their son, Bart, literally had seconds to get out before it was fully engulfed. Their cat was finally rescued from the burning remains, hiding in the basement, but did not survive more than two days after.

While their insurance will help them eventually rebuild, it will not cover everything. John and Pat have been remodeling this hand built home over the last 35+ years, lovingly adding their creative touch to every corner. But more than just creating a unique place, they created a space where all felt welcomed and accepted.

The Bishoffs have given so much to the Rockford community through creative service, volunteering, and the mentoring of musicians and artists for decade after decade. I have personally been a recipient of the Bishoff’s love, openness and boundless support. These things are part of what makes this fire such a great tragedy for our community, as well as for the family. They have lost nearly everything.
