Hi, my name is Sofia and I am raising funds for my best friend Dulce Lor. She recently received a tragic diagnosis: thyroid cancer. More specifically, they found a Hurtle cell tumor. This tumor is rare and requires immediate action.

The surgical procedure is urgent and unfortunately not covered by insurance as the specialist is located in Florida and Dulce resides in California.

Dulce is having surgery in a couple of weeks. Our first donation goal is $16,000 which is the down payment required for Dulce to begin treatment, starting with surgery. The deadline for this initial cost is August 27th, 2025. If Dulce does not meet this goal, she cannot begin treatment. Any delay allows the cancer to worsen and jeopardizes her health.

Any contributions beyond the $16,000 will help Dulce pay off existing medical debt she has already incurred through her testing process and help her avoid taking on additional debt throughout the medical process which is also not covered by insurance.
