Hi, my name is Peter and I'm raising funds to help send my stepson Jett to the USA on a once in a lifetime trip to play basketball against some high school teams.
Flying out on Boxing Day, the trip will include visits to North Carolina, to play 4 games and watch an NCAA college game and visit the Duke hall of fame. Atlanta to meet Dyson Daniels, who came through the same junior program that Jett is currently playing in before being drafted into the NBA. Play another game against a local team. See an Atlanta Hawks game and have an NCAA college experience.
Drive back to Charlotte to play another game, then fly to NY to play the 7th and final game, check out an NHL game and do some sightseeing, before heading to LA for Disneyland, sightseeing and another NBA game, before heading home after a whirlwind 19 days.
Unfortunately, this will be Jett's last chance to participate in this trip of a lifetime, as they only run it every 2 years and he will be out of the junior system by the time the next one takes place, so it's now or never!
The commitment has now been made, with the non-refundable deposit of $750 per person paid, with installments to be paid every 3 months. We would normally make every effort to fund something like this 100% by ourselves, but a major surgery and written off car in the space of a few months means that we simply can't, but would hate for Jett to miss this opportunity.
Ideally, I would like to accompany him as a parent/helper, but in the event that this isn't possible, Jett needs $10k to go by himself with the rest of the team.
Thanks so much for your consideration, or anything that anyone can spare to contribute.
