Hola a todos. Jesús fue diagnosticado con Covid-19 en Enero 15, tras días de malestar, tos, falta de aire al respirar. El día 18 de Febrero acudió a la Emergencia del hospital Larkin en Hialeah, donde fue ingresado una vez advertida por los médicos la grave neumonía de la que padecía producto del virus. Después de dos días de tratamientos y administración de oxígeno, sin mejoría, fue movido a Cuidados Intensivos, el día 20 de Enero por mucha falta de oxígeno. La cual continuó deteriorándose, provocando casi un paro respiratorio, al punto de necesitar del respirador artificial, el cual le fue conectado el día 4 de Febrero.
Los médicos decidieron la máquina ECMO seria muy beneficiosa para mejorar su condición. Al carecer de la misma en el Larkin, fue trasladado al hospital Memorial de Hollywood, el día 7 de Febrero. En busca de su mejoría, ECMO se le conectó el día 9, manteniendole además el respirador. Este se le retiró el día 11, pero todavía no estaban sus pulmones en buenas condiciones, por lo que se le volvió a conectar el día 16.
Ante la necesidad del respirador por un tiempo indefinido, los médicos decidieron realizarle una traqueotomía el día 25, siendo más segura la entubacion por esa vía.
Al día de hoy, luego de 42 días hospitalizado, su mejoría ha sido mínima, continua en estado de gravedad, y se estiman semanas o incluso meses de cuidados intensivos. Se me están juntando todo los bills y no puedo con tanto por eso estoy pidiendo ayuda. Cualquier ayuda será agradecida por la familia.
Hello everyone. Jesus was diagnosed with Covid-19 on January 15, after days of discomfort, cough, shortness of breath. On February 18, he went to the emergency room at Larkin hospital in Hialeah, where he was admitted after being warned by the doctors of the serious pneumonia he suffered the virus. After two days of treatments and oxygen administration, without improvement, he was transferred to Intensive Care, on January 20 due to a lack of oxygen. Which continued to deteriorate, causing almost a respiratory arrest, to the point of needing an artificial respirator, which was connected on February 4.
Doctors decided the ECMO machine would be very beneficial in improving his condition. They decided to transfer him to Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, on February 7. In search of his improvement, ECMO was connected on Febuary 9 ,also maintaining the respirator. This was removed on the 11th, but his lungs were still not in good condition, so it was reconnected on the 16th.
Given the need for a respirator for an indefinite time, the doctors decided to perform a tracheostomy on the 25th, with intubation through this route being safer.
To this date, after 42 days in hospital, his improvement has been minimal, he continues to be in a serious condition, and weeks or even months of intensive care are estimated. All the bills are getting piled up and I can't handle that much, that's why I'm asking for help. Any help will be appreciated by the family.
