Jesus & Noe attend high school (Oaxaca, Mexico)

Hello potential supporters! I´m Greg and I am asking for help to send these two boys from an orphanage to High School in Oaxaca, Mexico. I´ve lived here for 6 years and know that education is a luxury here. For these two nice kids living from age 6 or 7 in the orphanage, it is a near impossibility to finish high school. Something many of us take for granted.
I´ve helped the orphanage Cuidad de los Niñas y Niños for several years - with a building project, food during the pandemic and I helped fund their new small library on-site. I know the director Jesús Fajardo Cruz well and visit the orphanage often. The kids are always engaged in meaningful activities. I know it to be a well-managed and safe home for around 50 children under 16 (the orphanage has not been able to support kids after that age...until now). They operate on very little cash, few paid employees and no government or church support. The kids are well-loved and refer to themselves as a family and the orphanage as home. The orphanage is just outside Oaxaca City and the small local pueblo takes care of many things (cooking, cleaning, admin help, washing, child care) and all as volunteers.
Jesus and Noe have lived most of their lives in the orphanage (Cuidad de los Niñas y Niños) here in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, Mexico. They are the FIRST kids in the orphanage´s 50-year history to attend Preparatoria, or upper high school. It is the final stage of secondary school in Mexico and many, many children don´t have the opportunity to attend. Particularly here in Oaxaca, one of the 3 poorest states in the country (and lowest education levels, poor nutrition, high diabetes, high domestic violence and femicide etc.) Children go to work in their mid-teens or earlier. Often in the street.
Jesus and Noe´s history is very sad. I share here what the director and the boys provided. They have survived and even thrived and are soooooo excited to continue to prep school. Noe wants to be a teacher and Jesus a doctor.
"Noah and Jesus are two 15-year-old boys. Both are respectful, kind and intelligent young people. The first week of July they finished their secondary education in the home (Cuidad de los Niños Orphanage aka Childrens City).
Noe arrived when he was 6 years old when his mother died and he was left under the care of his father, living in a town in the mountains. It was very difficult for his father to take care of him and send him to school, so he brought him to the Children's City. And today he is already 15 years old, and it is expected that he will be another 3 years with us, to finish prep high school.
Jesús arrived at the home at the age of 7 from a town called Tierra Blanca, 6 hours from the city of Oaxaca. He has more siblings and comes from a single mother who had to request help from the Children's Home due to lack of money and work. In addition to the fact that they were fleeing from the violence that the husband exerted against the entire family.
The boys have asked for help to continue studying and to continue belonging to our Children´s City home and continue with their family of other young people here at the orphanage. This is the only family they have known. For the first time, we will support this educational level and that is because they are both dedicated young people with very good behavior and very good grades. They have decided to study at CABAO (Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Oaxaca) which is a public institution because of their future plans. The campus is not too far from the orphanage and we will feel more secure knowing that they are close, going out to school every day. The most important thing for me as a director is that they study with all their dedication and change their future for the better. It is a challenge that we assume since with the help of our benefactors it will be possible to cover their expenses and guide them correctly. They will go to school every day, Jesus wants to be a doctor and Noah a teacher, they already have the dream and the desire, now we will help them to be what they want to be, all along the path of good. Thanks for your help, maybe in a few years we will have two professionals, a doctor and one more teacher in this world.
