Hello all!!
As you may already know, our brother in law, who has been part of the family for so long that he's like a brother to us, Jesus Mendoza has been going through some medical issues. And we would like to go and start a GoFundMe page for him and his awesomely amazing family to help get them through this tough time in their lives.
For those of you who don't know, Jesus has been a known diabetic since he was just 21 years old. Diabetes is an epidemic that effects over 30 million people, and "it ain't no joke"!! It has already affected his eye sight (diabetic retinopathy) which he causes him to get injections in his eyes for, he suffers from a loss of proprioception (causes balance deficits) and has pain, numbness, and tingling in his legs, all caused by diabetic neuropathy. If scratched or develops an open wound, he is at a huge risk for infection because his body heals at a much slower rate. And I'm sad to say, his case has worsened and has now attacked his kidneys. He is on the verge of end stage renal (kidney) failure which may cause him to go on dialysis and is now on the national kidney transplant list.
We would like to set this up for the Mendoza family to help them with all the medical, travel, and living expenses that they have already incurred and for those that will continue to come during this process.
Jesus stole my sister's heart away when she was just 14 years old!! He was with her during her quincenera, high school and they got married days after she turned 18 because they knew their lives were better together. Five kids later, through the ups and downs of marriage they set an awesome example of how a marriage and life work.
