Jesus’ Journey

Our little cat Jesus was born on Easter. Of all the kittens in his litter he was the one who started walking first. Since then our biggest struggle has been getting him to slow down! He’s a cat who’s never shy, and will come up to and show love to anyone and everyone.

On Monday, the first of June, Jesus got hit by a car. With a severely damaged back leg and a fractured front leg he walked across our lawn and up flights of stairs before collapsing. Our neighbors heard the car screech to a halt and then drive away. 

After five days at the hospital he came home with one less back leg and metal plates in his front. 

At the animal hospital we had to choose whether or not to putting him down was an option. Recovery is going to be a long and painful process for him. He has to be in a cage for 8 weeks for his front leg to heal before he learns to walk again. There was never a doubt in our minds that Jesus will pull though this. If there’s any cat who can thrive on three legs, it’s Jesus.

We are fortunate enough to have had the most expensive insurance for him, but it still wasn’t enough. All donations goes toward his surgery, recovery, and his future vet appointments.
